Dependency on system property "org.eclipse.virgo.kernel.home". The value is changed in 6.5 as compared to 6.0

We persist our plugin data in a directory data/ucs/ that is created under <System.getProperty(org.eclipse.virgo.kernel.home)>. We noticed that the value of this property is changed in 6.5 as compared to 6.0

Tried to find it in the config files saw that in 6.0 it is

set.INSTANCE_DIR=C:/PROGRA~1/VMware/VCENTE~1/WEBCLI~1/server

and in 6.5 it is

set.INSTANCE_DIR=C:/PROGRA~3/VMware/VCENTE~1//runtime/VSPHER~1/server

Because of this the data we want to migrate during our plugin upgrade is not getting migrated. Is it a planned change in 6.5. Any suggestions here for achieving what we intend to?
