webclient_plugin: Tips for troubleshooting plugin registration

I'm building a new plugin for the html-bridge with both server and client components.

My plugin registers fine, but virgo server log do not show it. And the plugin itself does not show up. I'm using vcenter 5.5u1

The very first time, I registered the plugin - I provided a https url in extension xml, without server thumbprint. That was the only time, I saw a message in virgo log file mentioning download of package fail. For all other attempts, there was no indication that virgo server is trying to get the package or install it.

I am looking at the following log: /var/log/vmware/vsphere-client/logs/vsphere_client_virgo.log. There is no reference to my plugin.

Looking at /var/log/vmware/vpx/vpxd.log and eam.log show that my plugin is registered.

Please let me know if there are other ways to troubleshoot this.

I've tried the following with no progress ( virgo log does not even try to fetch the package):

1) Verified the package zip structure matches the one required ( matches the structure shown in sdk tutorial).

2) Used http (with allowHttp)

3) Used https with server xml.

Between each register/unregister, I restarted the webclient service from management page.

Thanks.
